Apple has introduced a new hardware formally known as the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation). The new hardware design does not have cap at the top like the previous model. In terms of the internal features, sensors have been added which can detect when you tap on the body of the pencil. The body of the pencil is no longer cylindrical and features a flat area on one side for tapping. For instance tapping the body once can enable from writing to erasing.

The company has also worked with the compatibility of the hardware. It can now quickly pair with the devices . The flat area of the pencil allows the Pencil snap in to the side of an iPad Pro with help of magnetic technology and then can charge wirelessly. It can automatically connect to the new iPad Pro without having the need to connect it through the USB-C port.

The users can also have new touch gestures that allows quick swapping between different software –based pencil options. The catch here is that the Pencil will not work with any of the previous generations iPads. Gadget enthusiasts can order the new Apple Pencil from October 30, 2018 and will be available at the Apple stores from November 7, 2018. The device is compatible with the iPad Pro 12.9 inch (3rd generation) and the 11 inch iPad Pro. The new Apple Pencil is priced at $129 and is available with free engraving. The engraving is free of charge but that will be available with a few extra days of shipping. It is available only as a custom order online but can be picked up from the store as well.

On the other hand the previous Apple Pencil remains on sale at $99 and is compatible with the first and second generation iPad Pro 12.9 inch, the iPad Pro 10.5 inch, sixth generation iPad and iPad Pro 9.7 inch.
