Sandy storm challenges restoration of communication services

It has been four days since Superstorm Sandy struck the Eastern seaboard in the US. However, many residents have complained that they are still are not able to make cell phone calls or use the internet.

As of November 1, 2012, reports state that cellular phone, internet and television services which have been affected by Sandy were slowly being restored. The number or dysfunctional operators declined to 19 percent today as compared to 25 percent previously. According to reports, there have been problems with the restoration due to some gas related problems as well and some parts of the city are still in a communication blackout.
