Beats Audio unveiled a new tiny speaker known as the Beats Pill on October 16, 2012. The reason the speaker is so named is because of its shape, which looks like a pill. However, its shape belies its sound, and it does not sound bad at all.

The Pill is a wireless speaker which will run on Bluetooth technology. The company claims that the speaker is compatible with any Bluetooth enabled device, and has a range of 30 feet despite the fact that such long range is not expected from a speaker. The face that sound from the speakers can reach large distances, allows the user to move around freely without losing out on music quality.

The Speaker features a wide frequency range, maintaining highs and lows over a distance. Apart from the black colored model, the Pill comes in red and white as well. The new speaker comes with a 1.5 meter audio cable with 3.5 mm jacks on both ends, as well as a USB 2.0 cable for charging and data.

The whole unit weights just 0.34 Kgs with a height of 45.72 mm and length of 190.5 mm, which makes its easily portable and a good bet for those who enjoy music while on the go. The speaker also has an internal microphone, so that it can also be used to make calls. The new speakers have been priced at $200.
