The Sony Xperia Z series has served well to its customers since its launch in 2013. Within three years, the company has launched a number of smartphones under the Xperia Z series out of which some of the popular ones included the Xperia Z Compact and Xperia Z Ultra.
The company launched a statement which said that there will not be any Xperia Z6 also from the series. The statement said, “The Xperia Z line has reached its culmination – Xperia X series represents a new chapter and evolution of our product strategy. Whilst the Xperia Z series was all about bringing the best of Sony’s advanced technologies to smartphones, Xperia X series is based on bringing smart, adaptive Sony user experiences across camera, battery performance and hardware / software design.”
The recent news has come after the company announced the Xperia X series plus the smaller Xperia XA and the highly powered Xperia X Performance with the Snapdragon 820 processor. Sony says that the three phones represent the new chapter of the Xperia brand.
In future the company will be adding more smartphones to the line up and build another new series. Sony is looking forward to catch up with the growing smartphone market which is currently dominated by Apple.
