Chip manufacturer Raspberry Pi has unveiled a new budget priced chip with child coders and faster processor with more memory than before. The best part is that the chip has been introduced at about the same price. The new Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is six times more powerful than the earlier version Model B+.
The earlier versions of the chip were widely installed by schools and enthusiasts across the globe. But still the Pi faces a big competition. Some major changes have been made in the Raspberry Pi 2 and has left other components unchanged. From single core, the central processing unit is quad core which means that it can be programmed to use plenty of cores so as to offer extra computing power.
It can also be used for better power consumption. The Cortex A7 processor runs at 800 MHz instead of 700 MHZ. The board also features One GB RAM which is double compared to the previous processor. The owners will have to add their own keyboard with a micro SD card with a copy of the OS and a TV monitor connecting cables to begin programming.
The founder of Raspberry Pi, Eben Upton said, “We think it’s about six times more powerful for most applications.” This has meant that it has actually become a computer now.
