Software giant Microsoft has finally unveiled the pricing of its Surface tablets. The company, on a temporary basis opened up its online store to show the pre-order pricing of its ARM based Windows RT tablet.
The details were visible just for a few minutes, but it revealed the pricing and specifications. The tablet was unveiled at an event in the month of June in Los Angeles. The device will be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra processor and will feature a vapour deposition coated magnesium case, with 2GB memory and 1,366 X 766 resolution display.
Some of the other features of the tablet include HDMI video output and a USB 2.0 port. The first TV advertisement for the device ran on US networks on October 15, 2012. The 32 GB version of the Surface will be available for $499, while the device with the addition of a black multi- touch ‘TouchCover’ keyboard case will cost $599.
The 64 GB version has been priced at $699, which will have a black TouchCover keyboard. Customers can also have additional TouchCovers in a range of other colors for $100 each; a more traditional ‘TypeCover’ keyboard will be available at $129. The tablet is expected to go on sale on October 26, 2012, at Microsoft stores.
