American software giant Microsoft is ready to launch a few subtle changes to its Office 365. The new changes will be introduced to make things a little easier for the millions of its customers. The control bar on Microsoft Word, for the web-version of the programme, which is also known as ribbon by the company, will be slimmed down to just one line.

The same new bar will also appear on Outlook in July 2018. Microsoft will be holding the slim down on its Excel, Power Point and other 365 apps will more research is conducted. It can be said that the changes might be to focus on providing simplicity for the casual customers and disappointing the power users.

The search function on Outlook will provide different results including contacts as well as commands. The users will also be provided with suggestions when the user begins to type based on what they have been working on. On the artistic front, the software giant has redesigned the icons of Office with new colors and more contrast. Word will be the first one to get the new changes but all the Office icons will get a fresh new look over the summer. Despite the fact that Microsoft is focusing on the subscription based Office 365, Microsoft Sill remains the old fashioned version. Microsoft will be launching the Office 2019 later in 2018.

The Classic Office will not change or update with regular downloads apart from the occasional security patch. However, Office 365 keeps changing as some subscribers see new features every month. The software giant will keep gathering the reactions and feedback of the users and make changes accordingly. The company argues that it does not believe in beta testing the new features but prefers to have a direct interaction with the users. Jon Friedman, the chief designer of Microsoft Office said, “We practice human-centric, empathic design every day as we design Office”. Office 365 has 31 million consumer customers and about 135 commercial clients.
