Search engine giant Google has launched its first app for the Apple Watch as an update to the Google News and Weather for iOS app. So far Google was maintaining a dignified silence, other third party developers did not waste time to release their apps for Apple’s important product in five years.

While the users of the Watch were expecting better apps, a weather app can still be a good start for the future series of better apps for the device. The new app for Apple iOS offers news summaries from about 65,000 publications with the headlines that are groups in various segments including sports, fashion, technology and more.

In the version for Apple’s Watch offers the users an ability to swipe through the top headlines from the small screen of the Watch. The users of the device can browse dozens of headlines horizontally and scroll down to see an accompanying photograph for every story. However, the new app is a little different from the other apps like The New York Times app and will not the complete story or even the summary of it on the small screen of the Apple Watch.

The new app does not even support Handoff which allows the readers to continue reading the story on the iPhone but allows to save it to the Safari’s Reading List by way of Force Touch.
