According to sources, the Apple iPhone 6 launch date will be September 9, 2014.
The much talked about Apple iPhone 6 launch date is finally out, much to the delight of Apple loyalists. Going by details posted on Recode – a site that has previously given accurate details about Apple news – Apple is planning to reserve the date for a media launch of the iPhone 6.
Since the inception of the smartphone line in 2007, by former CEO Steve Job, Apple has introduced a new iPhone every year. Going by the reports circulating on the web, the iPhone is expected to introduce two new models – 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch.
In July, The Wall Street Journal had reported that Apple had ordered production of 70-80 million units of its larger screen iPhones by December 30, 2014. This number was a steep rise compared to the previous order of 50-60 million units of iPhone 5S and 5C.
Apple has a sizeable base of loyal buyers that form a very large chunk of the phone’s sales. For the last few years, the iPhone has become Apple’s most important offering, with the company generating about half of its revenue only by iPhone sales.
Although, the tech giant is facing tremendous competition from its rivals like Samsung and Google who have been able to moderately capture the lower end of the market.
As of April 2014, Apple had 800 million iTunes accounts, which current CEO Tim Cook described as a “staggering” number. We will be waiting to see the reception that the iPhone 6 launch.
