Until now, the Samsung Galaxy S4 was available in a limited number of colors in the US market. However, that is about to change as Sprint customers in the US can break out of the boring white and black color options, as they will have the chance to grab the phone in a purple shade which stands out. On August 13, 2013, telecom company Sprint announced that it has already started selling the Samsung Galaxy S4 Purple Mirage color option for $199 on a two-year agreement.
The new color option is not exactly the shade of purple that is familiar to users, but it is different from the Amethyst Purple which was used for Galaxy S III in April 2013. The new color is a bit darker and less sparkling than the last purple used by Sprint. When it comes to the device itself, it is completely the same as the one that has been on the market for a few months already.
Features of the phone include a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor, 13-megapixel camera, 5-inch Super AMOLED display, 2-megapixel front camera and it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung Touchwiz software enhancements. The device is being sold at Sprint stores and phone channels and customers can also purchase the phone online at Sprint.com, from August 16, 2013.
