South Korean electronics giant Samsung has announced the roll out of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy Note owners in the UK. However, this might not be a good news for all.

The update has been announced only for those devices who have purchased a SIM free Samsung Galaxy Note. Those who have a network locked handset will have to wait longer for the approval of the carrier.

Samsung issued a statement which said, “Samsung UK can confirm that the [Android 4.0] Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy Note has been released and will be available when approved across the networks.” The mobile networks are yet to announce the exact update timings.

With the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, the users of the Galaxy Note will have a number of tweaks to the 5.3 inch ‘phablet’ device. Apart from the reworked user interface and Face Unlock feature the Note will be treated to a bundle of premium content which includes a card making app known as the S Story, exclusive Angry Birds Space content and a tweaked S Note app for advanced note taking. The update is about 320 MB and is available to download through Samsung’s PC software suite Kies.
