Popular micro blogging and social networking site, Twitter is now all set to reveal its new logo. The company has revealed its universally recognizable symbol , which does not have any frills.
Doug Bowman, the creative director of the company wrote on his Twitter blog, “Twitter is the bird, the bird is Twitter”. The new logo does not have a bubbled type face, the dazed looking fowl and the trademark ‘T’.
Bowman explained that the micro-blogging site has simplified the logo which was crafted from three sets of overlapping circles. The creative director further explained that the concept is similar to how a person’s networks, interests and ideas connect and intersect with each others.
The blog further added, “Whether soaring high above the earth to take in a broad view, or flocking with other birds to achieve a common purpose, the bird in flight is the ultimate representation of freedom, hope, and limitless possibility”. Moreover the micro blogging site has a reason to celebrate as its mobile platform surpassed it website in generating advertising revenue. The new logo of the social networking site might be just a piece of company’s puzzle, but Bowman believes that it is important.
