Xiaomi expected to launch Mi 8 on its eight anniversary

Chinese electronics based company, Xiaomi has a reason to celebrate. Xiaomi has planned an event and the occasion is the eight anniversary of the China based company. The Chinese tech giant will be unveiling its new flagship smartphone on May 31, 2018 which is tentatively known as the Mi 8 Anniversary Edition. The details of the event were grabbed by a teaser of the launch event available on Weibo.

It was earlier noted that one of the key features of the upcoming Mi 8 will be the one that cannot be seen, which will be an in-display fingerprint sensor. Some other features include the 3D facial recognition, quick charging capabilities, 4,000 mAh battery, Full-screen 6 inch display and a Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB RAM.

The date of launch has been mentioned on Twitter. The in-screen finger print scanner is not a new feature and is already available on the devices like the Vivo X21, Vivo X20 Plus UD and the Porche Design Huawei Mate RS. There are also rumours that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 will feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. This means that by the end of the year the feature will become the mainstream feature in smartphones.

With the new feature on the Mi 8, the device has delayed to introduce the feature on its devices but it will surely be a lot of affordable compared to other smartphones with the similar feature. The upcoming smartphone launch can be exciting for a few other reasons as well. Like the presence of 8 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and a Snapdragon 845 chipset, it is surely make a top end phone and lucrative for users looking for an advanced smartphone at a budget. Some of the Xiaomi fans might not be able to get their hands on the device as the company has not confirmed which regions it will be available.
