With the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5, the Chinese company has confirmed that more than 16 million people have already registered for the first sale of the Mi5. The first sale of the flagship smartphone is scheduled for March 1, 2016.
The figure is the actual number people who have pre-ordered the Mi5 the price of which begins at$300. The company has hoped that the number of registrations might reach more than 20 million for the first sale of the Mi5. Most of the people who have registered will actually acquire the phone.
With the figures of registrations, Xiaomi might have reached a new milestone since the figure has been reached in less than a week. Xiaomi says that the first sale of the Mi5 begins on March 1, 2016 at 10 am China time. The customers will be able to select the white version of the Xiaomi Mi5 3 GB/32 GB and 3GB/64GB models.
It is still not made clear if the company will also offer the enhanced edition of the Mi5 or any other versions. The company has said that the cheapest Mi5model will cost just $305 and will be equipped with a 1.8Ghz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdrago 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics processing unit, 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage.
