Online micro-blogging site Twitter has warned its users to stop posting instagram links. Photo sharing site Instagram had pulled back the functionality which showed Instagram photos in Tweets in 2012.

And since then the pictures from Facebook have been shown as links which must be opened in the browser or with a client. Some of the high profile users on Twitter have received a prompt telling them to post the pictures directly on Twitter so that they can be shown on the timelines. The message was sent in an educational effort to show how the picture can be posted on Twitter so as to increase the interaction on the posts.

Social networking giant Facebook acquired, Twitter in 2012 and Instagram has been gaining on the micro-blogging site since then, The micro blogging site offers filters and other photo editing functionality similar to that of Instagram. In any way the options are limited and the celebs with other normal individuals favour Instagram in terms of sharing and posting pictures.

The micro blogging site wants the users to use its own photo editing tools. Some of the popular celebrities who have been warned include Justin Bieber and Seth Rogen who have been told to stop posting Instagram links.
