US based software giant Microsoft has launched its cheapest Nokia 215 phone in the US market for just $29 on January 5, 2014. Microsoft has called it as the most affordable phone which can serve its users with internet facilities. The new phone by Nokia is similar to the Nokia 105 which was launched in 2014 and was priced at $20.

But the major difference here that the new phone has got internet connectivity and also has a camera. Do not go by the price as the users will also be treated with the Opera Mini Browser, MSN Weather, Bing search, Facebook and Twitter. The phone is also loaded with the messenger service from Facebook with the help of which the users can get instant notifications.

The vice president of Microsoft Devices Group in a press release said, “With our ultra-affordable mobile phones and digital services, we see an inspiring opportunity to connect the next billion people to the Internet for the first time”. The new Nokia 215 will be available in black, white and bright green colors.

The device also has a powerful battery and can last up to 29 days on standby and can be an ideal phone for those who do not have frequent access to electricity. In recent times, smartphone manufacturing giants including Microsoft, Samsung and others have been trying hard to make affordable smartphones as the sales of smartphones begins to slow down. The smartphone manufacturers are looking forward towards the most lucrative markets in the world for the smartphone sales.
