In the latest news for the Apple iPhone 6, users find the iPhone 6 Plus bending in pocket.

Apple seems to be in the news everyday, but this time its for all the wrong reasons. Owners of the new iPhone 6 Plus are reporting that their large screen phone is bending in their pockets. The issue was first highlighted in the MacRumors forum, where users uploaded pictures of their bent iPhone 6 Plus. Apple has not responded to these claims yet, but from the looks of it, the claims seem legitimate.

In this video uploaded on YouTube, a user sacrifices his iPhone 6 Plus to prove that the problem is indeed real.

Experts have opined that the iPhone 6 Plus is just too large and thin to withstand the pressure. The aluminum case does not have the proportional strength to support the big phone.

Describing how he found out his iPhone 6 Plus was bending, a user on MacRumors forum posted, “Yesterday, I left at 10am with the iPhone in my left FRONT pocket of my suit pants. I drove 4 hours to a wedding, which also involved a lot of sitting during dinner etc but also 2-3 hours of dancing. I left at 2am and went to bed, driving home 4 hours back.”

This is not the first time that an issue of iPhones bending has sprung up. In the past, there have been several cases of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S bending.

With thinner phones comes greater responsibility! Apple is going to learn that the hard way. Till Apple comes up with a solution for the issue, here are a few tips you can follow that might prevent your iPhone 6 Plus from bending:

  • Remove the phone from your pocket before you sit down.
  • Make sure that your pocket is large enough to facilitate sliding the iPhone 6 Plus out.
  • Buy a cover for the phone which will provide more support and it also helps to protect the phone from a fall.
