Necessity is the mother of all invention, but a fed up mother is the mother of this invention – ‘Ignore No More’
A mom from Houston, Texas was so fed up of her children ignoring her calls, she created an app to stop them. Sharon Standifird has created an app called “Ignore No More” which gives parents the power to lock their children’s phones if they are ignoring their phone calls or text messages. The app was launched on Saturday, August 16, 2014 and is available on the Google PlayStore for $1.99.
The app needs to be downloaded on the parent’s and their child’s phone. Once this is done, the parent can click on their child’s name and lock their phone completely. “When you lock your child’s phone with Ignore No More your child has only two options — he or she can call you back, or call for an emergency responder. No calls to friends, no text, no games, notta’ until they call you back. When they do, you can unlock their phone if you choose to do so. How’s that for parental control?” explains the app’s website.
Sharon Standifird said that she got the idea when both her children were ignoring her calls. Once she knew they were safe, she began researching how to build an app that would shut their phone completely.
When asked about what he thought of the app, her son Bradley, in an interview with CBS New York said, “Um, well I thought it was a good idea, but for other people, not me.”
Parents around the world are overjoyed about the power that this app gives them, meanwhile their children are not so happy about this ‘invasion of privacy’.
