American based developer, Electronics Arts has revealed that it is in talks with the software giant Microsoft to bring the mobile games to Windows Phone 8. The new mobile operating system is scheduled to launch later this year and Electronics Arts apparently wants to have its presence when it does.
However, this comes as a surprise as Microsoft has so far struggled to gain a significant audience with its mobile efforts. But EA sees potential in Windows Phone 8 as COO Peter Moore told Bloomberg said that having platforms to more platforms is never a bad thing.
Moore added, “We’re working very closely with Microsoft to understand what their views on gaming navigation are. Anything that allows more platforms to be adopted quickly that have a gaming element is good for Electronic Arts.” Lately it has been noticed that ES has been concentrating on mobile and social games.
The focus of the company on the boxed retail products is still there, but it has never been shy to say that the digital way is the way of the future. The company now wants its hands on as many digital markets as possible. On the other hand Microsoft’s efforts haven’t been enough to surpass the most popular Android and iOS platforms.
