Online retail giant Amazon has launched an offer for a limited time. The retailer is offering the Fire TV streaming media player and Kindle Fire HDX 7 inch tablet for $249.

The price of the device has been reduced by $79. The Kindle Fire HDX is a 7 inch tablet with a 16 GB memory space and special offers.

Though, the device would have been better if it had more storage space. Also, there are only a few Wi Fi media drives like the Kingston’s Wi-Drive which are Fire compatible. The device mostly depends on the cloud integration. Any of the updates which come later this year will add to the expanded voice-search results.

If the user is an Amazon subscriber then plenty of older HBO content can be streamed. The Fire TV also comes with a $15 Amazon Instant Video Credit so one can also indulge in a couple of movie rentals.

In a case when you are interested in just one device or the other then the other unwanted one could be flipped for close to the full price.

For instance if you sell the Fire TV for $90 the net cost on Fire HDX is $159. Amazon is also thinking of venturing in to the smartphone market by launching its own smartphone .
