Electronics giant Sony has launch its flagship smartphone the Xperia Ion. The device hit the stores on June 24, 2012 in the global market but did not create much spark at the mobile stores at the time of the launch.
So there are chances that this might be the beginning of some thing big. The mobile manufacturing giant which is a brand new division within Sony was developed after the company bought out the Ericsson’s stake in the firmer joint venture Sony Ericsson, is now aiming to attract the budget conscious consumer towards them.
The new Xperia Ion will be one of the first devices which will be launched with the brand name ‘Sony Mobile’ and will be priced at just $99 with a new service agreement. The features of the Ion include, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 1GB RAM, 16 GB inbuilt storage, 12 mage pixel rear camera with a front facing camera as well.
Sony claims that the Ion can click pictures with a shot to shot time of less than one second. The only drawback, is that the phone does not ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich so as to keep the costs down.
