The much-awaited Galaxy S IV from Samsung’s popular S series, is all set to debut at an event on March 14, 2013 in New York. A representative from Samsung confirmed the date and location of the event, but no further details were provided. The invitations for the event were sent out on February 25, 2013. The invitation had the words “ready 4 the show” printed on it, which is a clear reference to the S IV.

The invitation then says, “Come and meet the next Galaxy.” The latest news has come just a day after a new 8-inch version of the Galaxy Note tablet was revealed in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress event. The event hosts the world’s biggest smartphone and tablet makers, as they get together and announce the gadgets and gizmos of the year.

The Galaxy S has come out to be the biggest single rival to Apple’s iPhone and has also propelled the south Korean company to become a high profile organization. It has also become profitable for Android device makers.

At the 2013 Mobile World Congress, smartphones were in clear focus. This was also where the Chinese giant, Huawei, announced the fastest smartphone in the world, the Ascend P2. This phone has the latest Android version and a 4.7-inch screen.
