Apple has always challenged its limits when it comes to introducing new features to their products. Wistron, who is one of the assemblers of iPhone has confirmed that the upcoming models of the smartphone will have wireless charging capabilities and will also be waterproof! The upcoming iPhone 8 is expected to be a premium handset and will be a better version of the iPhone 7s Plus. The hint about improved water resistance was given out by reports earlier this year.
It is already known that the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus models are already splash and water resistant. However, a fine print on the box warns, “splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear.” Moreover, water damage on iPhones are not covered by Apple’s warranties. But there are reports that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users have used their devices in the shower and have not faced any issues.
The IP68 rating mentioned that the “6” means that the upcoming iPhone will be effectively dust-proof and will have complete protection against contact. Talking about rivals, Samsung Galaxy S8 already comes with IP68 rating and has the ability to withstand 1.5 meters of water! Stay tuned to catch a review of the iPhone 8 exclusively on Gadget Nator.
