BBC has said that the users of the iPlayer app will soon have the ability to download radio programmes. The app was this week upgraded to allow the downloading of TV programmes but did not allow the download of the radio shows locally.
BBC has told RadioToday.co.uk that they hope to be able to offer mobile downloads of BBC radio programmes in future. The corporation is currently working on relevant technical rights and permission issues. Moreover the BBC iPlayer mobile downloads will also be coming to Android devices in early 2013. BBC is also trying to bring the functionality available to the other devices in future.
