Beverage manufacturer PepsiCo is in process of making and launching its phone. It will be licensing its brand instead of actually making it. Phone enthusiasts still have their own doubts about the new phone from a beverage manufacturer. The Pepsi P1 is expected to be launched on October 20, 2015.

The phone is expected to have reasonable number of specifications and will be priced reasonably at $200. For now the phone will only be available for the Chinese consumers. The company confirmed on October 12, 2015 that PepsiCo is working with a licensing partner to market a line of mobile phones and accessories in China.
PepsiCo has many licenses across various categories. In 2014 the company had joined hands with companies like Danish luxury stereo and TV maker Band & Olufsen. The new phone by PepsiCo will be launched at an event in Beijing on October 20, 2015. Some of the features of the phone include 5.5 inch 1080 dsplay, 2 GB RAM, 1.7 Ghz MT 6592, 16 GB Internal storage, 13 mega pixel rear camera, 5 mega pixel front camera, 3000 mAh battery and will run on Android 5.1 operating system.
It will be interesting to see a beverage company to step in to the smartphone field.
