Nexus 5 listed on Google Play, release date to be revealed soon

For many weeks, there have been speculations about the upcoming Nexus 5 from Google and to everyone’s surprise, the device has quietly appeared on the Google Play store.

Google’s latest device has appeared next to Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, with the caption, “Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh new ways.” The search engine giant has listed the device starting at $349, however, when the link which leads to the new smartphone is clicked, the new page is not loading at the moment.

Rumors of the new device were circulating for the past couple of weeks and it has been predicted that the Nexus 5 will run on 4.4 Kit Kat and will be revealed in the upcoming weeks. The new Nexus 5 is expected to be priced between $299 to $399 for the 16 GB version and the price will most likely be set to $449 for the 32 GB version. Last week, there were reports of third-party cases for the device which were seen on Google+.

So far, the search engine giant has not opened up about the new Nexus 5, but it all points to the fact that a new device from the company is on its way. Even the accessory makers are eager to get into action just before the launch of the device and many Nexus 5 cases are on sale at Amazon already.
