Sports Interactive’s game Football Manager 2014 will be launched on October 31, 2013 for Windows PC, Mac and Linux. It has been announced by Sports Interactive and SEGA that by pre-ordering the game from a participating retailer, users will be granted access to a fully playable beta around two weeks prior to the official release date.

If a career is started in beta, then users will be able to continue playing in the full game on release. Miles Jacobson, the Sports Interactive studio director said, “I get so many requests for the release date on Twitter, but we’ll only ever announce a date when we’re sure we’re going to hit it”. Jacobson went on to say that they are now at that point and that he is delighted to announce the release date. He will also be announcing a number of retailers who will be offering users who pre-order the chance to play the Beta version of the game two weeks before the Football manager 2014’s official release date.

The game will be released to PS Vita as well, but no release date has been announced so far. The game assures an almost identical feature set to Football Manager Classic in FM 14, with game saves compatible in both games.

The game was first released in 1992 as Championship Manager.
