Search engine giant Google is expected to unveil a small Google branded tablet at the company’s developer I/O event on June 27, 2012. If the speculations are true then the new device will surely be a threat to the Amazon’s Kindle Fire than Apple’s best selling iPad.

More details of the device are expected to be released at the three day conference in San Francisco for computer programmers. The Google’s tablet is expected to have a 7 inch screen measured diagonally which is smaller than iPad’s nearly ten inch display.

If the tablet is smaller in size then it is expected to be priced near Kindle Fire which sells for $199. With the entry of Google in the tablet market, another brand will be entering to threaten the other existing tablet manufacturers.

Last week even Microsoft announced its own tablet ‘Surface’. Google is also yet to reveal, who will be delivering Wednesday ‘s news. But it will certainly not be Larry Page as last week the company revealed that Page lost his voice due to unspecified health problems. The new tablet is expected to be known as the Nexus Seven and is also expected to be the first to run on the next version of Android known as the Jelly Bean.
