Samsung unveils pricing of Ativ S for UK

South Korean electronic manufacturing giant Samsung has already started taking pre-orders of its Ativ S smartphone for its UK customers. The pre-order page of the online retailer is asking for £431.99 for Samsung’s flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone.

Earlier, the online retailer was asking for £479.99 on the pre-order page, but now at £431.99 it has become an attractive deal. The smartphone was unveiled at the IFA 2012 in Berlin. The Ativ S will be competing with the other phones in the segment such as the HTC Windows Phone 8X and Nokia Lumia 920.

Online retailer Handec has listed the handset for pre-order and the amount displayed is likely to be the official pricing of the smartphone. The retailer has also claimed that stock is expected to arrive in the first week of November, 2012.

It is also expected that all Windows 8 compatible smartphones are expected to go on sale at around the same time. The main question consumers will be asking is whether the Ativ S is worth with its price tag of £431.99. The device is powered by a 1.5 Ghz dual core processor, 1 GB RAM, and 4.8 inch screen which is the same size  as that of the Samsung Galaxy S III. The smartphone also has an 8 mega pixel camera at the back with a 2 mega pixel front camera for video calling.
