Social networking site Facebook on August 7, 2012 announced a new mobile optimized ad unit with the help of which the users will be directly directed to install mobile apps. It is a beta programme which will be available for a limited number of developers who want to try the ads.
After clicking on the mobile ad, the user will be directed to the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android to install the app. in recent times the social networking site has been struggling to monetise its mobile audience. The consumers now spend 23 percent of their time on mobile devices instead of the other media like TV or print.
