Popular social networking and micro-blogging site Twitter is getting ready to introduce a revamped look of its user profiles. Twitter users can find a new look if they are viewing the app from a web browser. Twitter said that it is rolling out redesigned profiles which look similar to profiles found on the rival social network Facebook.

The header photo on Twitter now covers the width of the page and is similar to the cover photo of Facebook, while content is then shown in three columns. The left column has photos and followers, while the middle column has tweets and the right column features trends, as well as recommendations. Moreover, popular tweets which get more engagement will be shown more prominently.

Users of the social network will also have an option of pinning a tweet to the top of the page. When users are looking at other profiles, they will have three ways to view timelines: one being tweets only, the second being tweets and replies together and the third will include tweets with only photos or video.

A small group of users will have access to the new profiles starting from April 8, 2014. In the upcoming weeks, everyone will be able to have a revamped profile on Twitter.
